Listeriosis - a zoonotic infectious disease of humans and animals caused by pathogenic species of the genus Listeria, characterized by multiple sources and reservoirs of infection, diversity of transmission routes and factors, variability in clinical manifestations, high fatality rate among newborns and immunocompromised individuals. Sometimes the disease may proceed asymptomatically
