Conditional scale zero
A point on a difference (interval) scale or an order scale, which by agreement is assigned a zero value of the measured property (quantity).
Note. The scale may extend on both sides from the conditional zero point. For example, in the most commonly used calendar scale, December 25th is taken as the conditional zero. Therefore, it is customary to denote years before Christ.
