Correction Factor in Lending

Adjustment factor - a numerical multiplier (whose value is in the range from 0 to 1), calculated based on possible changes/fluctuations in prices of securities on the securities market and used when calculating the adequacy of collateral for the requested/provided credit by the Central Bank of Russia, as well as when calculating the value of securities accepted as collateral (blocked) securities.

The adjustment factor is set by the Central Bank of Russia in order to reduce its risks associated with possible devaluation of securities accepted as collateral for credits provided by the Central Bank of Russia. The size of the adjustment factor is published in the "Bulletin of the Central Bank of Russia."

1.7.1. Adjustment factor - a numerical multiplier (the value of which is in the range from 0 to 1), calculated based on possible fluctuations in the value of collateral accepted (property rights), by which the book value of accepted bills and claims under credit agreements is adjusted. The book value of accepted bills and claims under credit agreements, adjusted by the corresponding adjustment factor of the Bank of Russia, represents the maximum possible amount including the loan amount from the Bank of Russia that a bank may obtain from the Bank of Russia, and the interest accrued for the assumed period of use of the Bank of Russia loan. At the same time, for the purposes of this Regulation, the book value of rights to claims under credit agreements accepted as collateral is understood to mean the book value of the principal debt amount under the credit, and the book value of bills accepted as collateral is understood to mean the purchase price (acquisition cost) of the bills (but not higher than the nominal value for discounted bills, and not higher than the nominal value and the amount of interest accrued from the date of issuance of the bill up to the date of its acquisition for interest-bearing bills)
