Hereditary transmission
1. If an heir called to inherit under a will or by law dies after the opening of the inheritance but before accepting it within the prescribed period, the right to accept the share of the inheritance that was due to them passes to their legal heirs, and if all the inherited property was bequeathed - to their heirs under the will (hereditary transmission). The right to accept the inheritance in accordance with hereditary transmission does not form part of the inheritance opened after the death of such an heir.

45. Hereditary transmission refers to the transfer of the right to accept an inheritance to other persons, when a statutory or testamentary heir called to inherit upon the opening of the estate has died after the opening of the estate, without having had time to accept it within the established period following the opening of the estate. In this case, the right to accept the share that was due to the deceased heir passes to the heirs of the deceased heir in the same extent and with the same rights as belonged to the heir called to inherit and who died after the opening of the estate (Art. 1156 of the Civil Code of the Russian Federation)
