21) fibrous or filamentary materials - materials which include:

a) continuous monofilaments;

b) continuous filaments and roving;

c) tapes, fabrics, fiber mats and three-dimensional woven structures;

d) chopped fibers, staple fibers and coherent fiber layers;

e) monocrystalline or polycrystalline filamentary crystals of any length;

f) fibrous mass of aromatic polyamide (categories 1 and 8);

"Fibrous or filamentary materials" - continuous monofilaments, yarn, roving, tow or tape.

Special note. 1. "Tape" - a material composed of interlaced or oriented in one direction threads, strands, roving, tow or yarn and so on, usually pre-impregnated with resin.

2. "Monofilament or filament" - the smallest component part of a fiber, usually several micrometers in diameter.

3. "Packing" - a bundle of threads, usually approximately parallel.

4. "Tow" - a bundle of threads (usually more than 200), arranged approximately parallel.

5. "Yarn" - a bundle of twisted tows.

6. "Roving" - a bundle (usually 12 - 120) approximately parallel tows
