Investigative experiment

In order to verify and clarify data relevant to a criminal case, the investigator may conduct an investigative experiment by reproducing actions, as well as the circumstances or other conditions of a particular event. In doing so, it is checked whether certain facts could have been perceived, specific actions were performed, or a particular event occurred, and also the sequence of events and the mechanism of trace formation are identified. Conducting an investigative experiment is permissible if it does not pose a danger to the health of those participating in it.
