Natural reserves

Natural reserves are protected areas of local significance, playing a special role in the conservation or restoration of natural complexes and their components, as well as in maintaining ecological balance. Natural reserves are established on typical well-preserved or unique territories and water areas within the municipal district, having a natural origin, possessing high environmental protection and scientific value. In certain cases, territories and water areas with anthropogenic origin, including quarries and waste dumps, which have acquired significance as sites for the growth of rare and vulnerable plant species, habitats for rare animal species, or other important ecological functions, may be declared natural reserves.
