Estimated reserves of oil and gas (Category C1)
35. Category C1 (estimated) - reserves of part of the deposit that has been studied by reliable seismic survey or other high-precision methods within the area of potential drainage of untested wells and adjacent to reserves of categories A and B provided that the available geological and geophysical information with a high probability indicates industrial productivity of the exposed formation in this part of the deposit. The degree of geological study of the geological and production parameters of the deposit is sufficient for constructing a preliminary geological model and conducting reserve calculations.
Reserves of category C1 are identified if geological and geophysical information with justified confidence proves that the formation in the direction of the identified category C1 is continuous over the area.
The technological parameters of the deposit development are determined by analogy with studied parts of the deposit or using analogies from other developed fields.
Profitability of development is determined by analogy with the studied part of the deposit.
Category C1 includes reserves:
1) the un-drilled portion of the deposit directly adjacent to reserves category A + B at a distance equal to the zone of possible drainage;
2) the part of the deposit in the area of untested wells, provided that the productivity of this deposit has been proven by testing or operation in other wells
