Strategic Risk of a Credit Institution


Strategic risk - the risk of losses arising for a credit institution as a result of errors (deficiencies) made when making decisions that determine the strategy of the institution's operations and development (strategic management), manifested in the failure to take into account or insufficient consideration of potential dangers that may threaten the activities of the credit institution, incorrect or inadequately justified determination of prospective areas of activity in which the credit institution can achieve an advantage over competitors, absence or incomplete provision of necessary resources (financial, material-technical, human) and organizational measures (managerial decisions) that should ensure the achievement of strategic objectives of the credit institution's activities
