North
The North is the high-latitude part of Russia's territory, characterized by harsh natural-climatic conditions, which result in increased costs for product manufacturing and population livelihood. The Northern regions include entirely or partially the territories of 6 republics, 3 krais, 10 oblasts, and 8 autonomous okrugs. More than 11.7 million people live here, including over 200 thousand representatives of 30 indigenous small-numbered peoples of the North.
