Television


A television is an electronic device designed to convert radio signals of images and sound accompanying television broadcast programs into images and sound.

Televisions differ primarily by screen size (diagonal size). The diagonal size of the screen can be expressed in two digits - the diagonal size for the visible part of the image and the full size of the cathode ray tube. The diagonal size of the screen is indicated in inches ("), less frequently in centimeters (cm). As a rule, the model name of the television contains a reference to the diagonal size. The most common sizes of television screens are as follows: 14" (34 cm), 15" (37 cm), 21" (54 cm), 25" (63 cm), 29" (72 cm), 32" (81 cm), 34" (87 cm), 36" (92 cm), 38" (96 cm).

In addition, televisions are divided according to the method of image formation on the screen. Depending on the implementation of each method, the following types of televisions are distinguished:

- cathode ray tube;

- liquid crystal - LCD televisions;

- plasma panels and televisions;

- projection televisions
