Swine flu
Swine flu is a respiratory disease of pigs caused by the influenza A virus and periodically triggers outbreaks among animals. Swine flu viruses cause high levels of morbidity with relatively low mortality rates in pigs. They can spread among animals throughout the year, but outbreaks more commonly occur in late autumn and winter, similar to human epidemics. The classical swine flu virus (influenza A H1N1 virus) was first identified in a pig in 1930
