Victory Day


May 9th is a public holiday - Victory Day. Victory Day is a non-working day and is annually celebrated with a military parade and an artillery salute.

Military parades involving the use of weapons and military equipment, as well as the use of copies of the official symbol of victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War - the Banner of Victory, are held in the capital of the Russian Federation, Moscow, in cities honored with the title "Hero City", as well as in cities where headquarters of military districts, fleets, combined arms armies and the Caspian Flotilla are located.
