Household
A household is considered to be:
one person living in a separate dwelling or part of a dwelling and providing for all necessities of life, without combining means for running a common household with any other persons residing in that dwelling;
two or more people living together in a separate dwelling, part thereof, or several dwellings, and providing for all necessities of life by managing a common household, fully or partially combining and spending their resources. These individuals may be related by kinship or relationships arising from marriage, or may not be relatives, or may be both.
Persons renting a dwelling from individual citizens are not included in the owner's household and are considered separate households.
Persons employed for domestic work (domestic staff) who reside in the premises of their employer are not counted as part of their employer's household, regardless of whether they receive food and accommodation as part of their employment. Instead, they are considered as separate households.
Persons without family ties to members of a household, but residing in the same dwelling and maintaining a single household (elderly or other individuals under the care of the household) may be included in the composition of the household.
