Statements of the accused
1. The defendant's statement refers to information provided by him during an interrogation conducted as part of pre-trial proceedings in a criminal case or in court in accordance with the requirements of Articles 173, 174, 187–190 and 275 of this Code.
2. The defendant's admission of guilt in committing a crime may be used as a basis for the charge only upon confirmation of his culpability by a combination of evidence available in the criminal case.
