Final Approach
the final approach phase - that part of the instrument approach procedure which begins at the established reference point (or points) of the final approach phase, or, in the absence of such a point:
at the end of the last standard turn, turn onto the final approach course, or turn onto the approach path in a 'ippodrom' type procedure, if applicable; or
at the point where the aircraft enters the last leg of the approach procedure and ends at a point near the airport, beyond which landing can be executed or an aborted approach (go-around) initiated;
