Theft


1. Unlawful taking of a vehicle or other means of transport without the intent to steal (car theft) -

is punishable by a fine of up to one hundred and twenty thousand rubles, or in an amount equal to the offender's salary or other income for a period of up to one year, or restriction of freedom for a term of up to three years, or compulsory labor for a term of up to five years, or arrest for a term of up to six months, or deprivation of liberty for a term of up to five years.

2. The same act committed:

a) by a group of persons acting in concert;

b) has lost its force. - Federal Law No. 162-FZ dated December 8, 2003;

c) with the use of violence not dangerous to life or health, or with a threat to use such violence, -

is punishable by a fine of up to two hundred thousand rubles, or in an amount equal to the offender's salary or other income for a period of up to eighteen months, or compulsory labor for a term of up to five years, or deprivation of liberty for a term of up to seven years.

3. Acts provided for by paragraphs 1 or 2 of this article committed by an organized group or causing particularly large damage -

shall be punished by deprivation of liberty for a term of up to ten years.

4. Acts provided for by paragraphs 1, 2 or 3 of this article committed with the use of violence dangerous to life or health, or with a threat to use such violence -

shall be punished by deprivation of liberty for a term of up to twelve years
