Minimum Descent Altitude
Minimum Descent Altitude (MDA) or Minimum Descent Height (MDH) - the established absolute or relative altitude during an approach to a landing on a non-precision approach or during an approach with visual maneuvering ("circle-to-land"), descent below which is prohibited if the required visual contact with ground references for continuation of the approach has not been established. MDA is measured from mean sea level, while MDH is measured from the airport elevation or the threshold elevation of the runway, if the threshold elevation is more than 2 m below the airport elevation. In cases where both terms are used, for convenience the term "Minimum Descent Altitude/Height" (MDA/H) can be applied;
