The wholesale market for electricity and power

The wholesale electricity and power market (hereinafter - wholesale market) is a sphere of trade in special goods - electricity and power within the Unified Energy System of Russia within the boundaries of the unified economic space of the Russian Federation, involving large-scale producers and large-scale consumers of electricity and power, as well as other entities that have obtained the status of subjects of the wholesale market and operate on the basis of the rules of the wholesale market, approved in accordance with this Federal Law by the Government of the Russian Federation. Criteria for classifying producers and consumers of electricity as large-scale Producers and large buyers are established by the Government of the Russian Federation;
