Estimated reserves of oil and fuel gases (Category C2)
36. Category C2 (probable) - reserves in unexplored parts of the reservoir and in the drainage zone of transiting untested wells. Knowledge of the geological and engineering parameters of the reservoir is assumed by analogy with the explored part of the reservoir, and if necessary, with analogous reservoirs within this hydrocarbon region. The available information is sufficient for constructing a preliminary geological model and estimating reserves. Technological parameters and economic efficiency of reserve development are determined by analogy with explored parts of the reservoir or using analogies from developed fields.
Category C2 includes reserves:
1) areas of the reservoir between the proven contour of the reservoir and the boundaries of higher category reserve areas, if there is sufficient geological and geophysical information to conclude about the continuity of the formation;
2) formations with unproven productivity, but studied based on geophysical well logging data from transit operational wells, provided there is a justified confidence that according to the results of geophysical well studies they may be productive;
3) undrilled tectonic blocks within reservoirs with established productivity. In this case, available geological information indicates that productive formations within the blocks may have lithofacies characteristics similar to those of the studied part of the reservoir
