Tramadol (Tramal)

Tramadol (tramal) is a synthetic opioid of moderate analgesic potency (0.15 times the potency of morphine), and has a second, non-opioid mechanism of central action (inhibits the reuptake of norepinephrine and serotonin in CNS structures). Tramadol at therapeutic doses does not cause respiratory or circulatory depression, disturbances of gastrointestinal tract motility or urinary tract motility; long-term use of recommended clinical doses does not lead to the development of psychological and physical dependence characteristic of true narcotics. It may cause side effects (transient somnolence/sedation, nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, rarely vomiting), which are attenuated during treatment
