Nicotine


Nicotine is an alkaloid found in tobacco leaves; it can also be obtained through synthesis. A colorless liquid that turns brown when exposed to air; has a characteristic sharp odor. A strong base, toxic, forms crystalline salts; used as a fungicide and insecticide for plant protection
