Local Self-Government
2. Local self-government in the Russian Federation is a form of exercising people's power, ensuring within the limits established by the Constitution of the Russian Federation, federal laws, and in cases provided for by federal laws - the laws of the subjects of the Russian Federation, independent and at their own responsibility the resolution by the population directly and/or through local self-government bodies of issues of local significance taking into account the interests of the population and considering historical and other local traditions
