Plasma televisions

The principle of operation of plasma televisions is based on the luminescence of special phosphors under an electric discharge in a highly rarefied gas environment. During such a discharge between electrodes with control voltage, a conducting "thread" composed of ionized gas molecules (plasma) is formed. By applying control signals to vertical and horizontal conductors applied to the inner surfaces of the panel's glass, the plasma panel control circuit performs "line" and "frame" scanning of the television image raster. The image on the plasma panel does not flicker, which is a significant advantage over images on traditional cathode ray tube screens. Plasma displays are completely flat, and the image can be viewed at an angle up to 170 degrees. Plasma panels allow for significantly increasing the size of the television screen. Screen sizes by diagonal are very diverse in plasma televisions (from 32" (80 cm) to 63" (158 cm)). Plasma televisions also have the possibility of connecting to a computer.

The quality of broadcasting program reproduction is determined by the quality of an individual block - tuner, which in most cases is not included in the plasma panel kit. The approximate cost of a plasma television with the smallest diagonal size is 1100 - 1450 US dollars. World leaders in manufacturing plasma televisions are the following companies: ANV, Fujitsu, JVC, LG, NEC, Panasonic, Philips, Pioneer, Samsung, Sony, Thomson, Toshiba, Loewe
