Endorsement
If the endorsement contains a qualification implying a simple mandate ("for payment", "on collection", etc.), such notation does not transfer to the endorse the right to hold the endorser liable for reimbursement. Such notation merely authorizes the endorsee to receive the proceeds due under the bill, to take action regarding protest, to notify prior endorsers of non-receipt of payment, etc., but does not make the endorsee the owner of the bill. This notation, known as a gratuitous endorsement, usually appears in the following form: "On collection", "For collection", "I entrust to receive", "Currency on collection"
