Trepel


Trepel is a weakly cemented rock of white or yellowish color, consisting of the finest silica particles with admixtures of powdery or clayey particles. Trepels have high porosity; their bulk density varies within 0.5–1.0 g/cm³, upon wetting trepels become softened, sharply reducing strength and shear resistance
