Penal Enforcement Inspectorate

1. Correctional inspection units (hereinafter referred to as inspections) are institutions that carry out criminal penalties in accordance with the criminal execution legislation against persons sentenced without isolation from society, as well as the measure of restraint in the form of house arrest.

2. Inspections in their activities are guided by the Constitution of the Russian Federation, federal laws, decrees and orders of the President of the Russian Federation, government decisions and orders of the Government of the Russian Federation, other normative legal acts and this Regulation.

3. The procedure for establishing inspections as institutions of the criminal execution system and determining their organizational and legal status is established by the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation.

4. The main tasks of inspections are:

a) execution of punishments in the form of compulsory labor, deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities, restriction of freedom and corrective labor;

b) supervision of the behavior of conditionally convicted persons and convicts in respect of whom serving the punishment has been postponed;

b(1) supervision of the location of suspects or accused persons in the place of serving the measure of restraint in the form of house arrest and monitoring their compliance with restrictions and (or) limitations imposed by the court;

c) prevention of crimes and other violations by persons registered in the inspections;

d) other tasks assigned to the inspections in accordance with the legislation of the Russian Federation.

5. In their work, inspections cooperate with divisions of internal affairs agencies, administrations of enterprises, institutions and organizations (hereinafter referred to as organizations), where convicts are employed, local self-government bodies, prosecutors' offices, courts and public associations
