Religious Associations
1. A religious organization in the Russian Federation is recognized as a voluntary association of citizens of the Russian Federation, other persons who reside permanently and on lawful grounds within the territory of the Russian Federation, established for the purpose of joint practice of faith and its dissemination, possessing characteristics corresponding to this objective:
faith or religion;
performance of worship services, other religious rites and ceremonies;
teaching religion and providing religious education to their followers.
2. Religious organizations may be created in the form of religious groups and religious organizations.
3. The establishment of religious organizations in state authorities, other state bodies, state institutions, local self-government bodies, military units, state and municipal organizations is prohibited.
4. The creation and activities of religious organizations whose objectives and actions contradict the law are prohibited
