Transport corridor "West - East" ("Trans-Siberian Railway")

The "West-East" transport corridor ("Transsiberia") represents an alternative to the traditional maritime route for container delivery from Southeast Asia around India and through the Suez Canal to Europe. Its basis is the Transsiberian Railway, whose use allows reducing the distance between Europe and Asia by 8,000 km and saving 8-19 days of transit time. In the future, part of the trade between the United States of America and the European Union may be carried out via this universal corridor running in a latitudinal direction. The road network within the corridor and on its approaches is developing at an accelerated pace; infrastructure for intermodal transportation is being improved; and a system of information communications based on optical fiber communication lines has been created and is functioning.
