General Court Alarm


general ship alarm - an alarm declared at the discretion of the vessel's captain (and in emergency situations by the watch personnel with a subsequent report to the captain) in cases where it is necessary to prepare the vessel for preventing a potential danger, inflow of seawater into the vessel, occurrence of an explosion, fire, gas leak on board, or detection of initial signs of fire—smoke and odors of burning;
