Local Sports Federation
A local sports federation must comply with the requirements established by Russian Federation legislation on public associations and must include a reference to its organizational and legal form (public organization), the territorial scope of its activities (local), as well as the type or types of sport for which the sports federation was created in order to promote their development. A local sports federation may use the word "union" or the word "association" in its name, but these words do not indicate its organizational and legal form in this case1.
A local sports federation is established and operates in order to develop a specific type or types of sport within the territories of a municipal district, municipal area, city district, intra-city municipal formation of a federal city (Moscow, Saint Petersburg, or Sevastopol)2.
