Areas - located outside the exclusive (marine) economic zone and the continental shelf of Ukraine, mentioned in the definition of the term "Ukraine" in subpoint "b" of paragraph 1 of article 3 of the Agreement, mean the seabed and subsoil of oceans and seas beyond national jurisdiction, with respect to which Ukraine, in accordance with the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea 1982 and procedures of the International Seabed Authority, will obtain rights for the exploitation of resources of the seabed and its subsoil1.
