Speech Synthesizer
Speech synthesizer: a complex of technical and software means that converts text composed in various languages into an audio signal perceivable by the listener as analogous to human speech with varying degrees of clarity and naturalness of sound.
Note - The original text is transmitted for conversion in digital form from various information carriers or through digital communication lines. Speech synthesizers can be divided into monolingual (e.g., only Russian) and multilingual (e.g., Russian and English, etc.); software-based (operating on the basis of technical and software means) and hardware-based (functioning based on technical means). Speech synthesizers should be distinguished from speech indication devices, which can output spoken messages consisting of a limited number of words and phrases read by a speaker and stored in the device's memory (including that of a personal computer), for example in tactile devices (talking clocks, sphygmomanometers, elevator keyboard voice announcements, etc.)
