House Arrest

1. House arrest as a measure of preliminary restraint is imposed by court decision in respect of a suspect or accused when it is impossible to apply another, less restrictive, measure of preliminary restraint and consists in placing the suspect or accused in complete or partial isolation from society within the residential premises where they reside as an owner, tenant, or on other lawful grounds, with the imposition of restrictions and/or prohibitions and the conduct of supervision over them. Taking into account the health condition of the suspect or accused, a medical institution may be designated as the place of their detention under house arrest.
