Nation:
a) citizenship, a consolidated community of citizens of one state, possessing - while maintaining ethnic, religious and racial diversity - common language, common culture with its own independent system of values, common self-awareness, including the feeling of shared historical destiny, awareness of its own independent subjectivity in the geopolitical space of the modern era. To distinguish this term from other meanings, it is also used in the form of "civil" or "political" nation;
b) in the domestic scientific tradition - a stage in the historical development of an ethnic group as an ethnic community, associated with the emergence of the bourgeois society, forming and reproducing itself on the basis of common territory, economic links, language, cultural characteristics, psychological disposition, ethnic (national) self-awareness
