Revocable letter of credit


1. A revocable letter of credit is one that may be amended or revoked by the issuing bank without prior notice to the beneficiary. Revocation of a letter of credit does not create any obligations for the issuing bank towards the beneficiary.

2. The paying bank is obliged to make payment or perform other operations under a revocable letter of credit, if it has not received notification of amendment or revocation of the letter of credit at the time of performing such operations.

3. A letter of credit is revocable unless otherwise explicitly stated in its text.
