Hydrogen

Hydrogen is obtained by electrolysis of water or from water gas, coke oven gas, or hydrocarbons.

Hydrogen is usually considered a non-metal. It is stored under pressure in steel cylinders.

It is used for hydrogenation of oils (production of solid fats), cracking of petroleum products, in ammonia synthesis, for cutting or welding metals (oxygen-hydrogen soldering lamps) and others.
