d) ion plating - a special modification of the physical vapor deposition process obtained by heating, in which a plasma or ion source is used to ionize the material of the coatings, and a negative bias applied to the substrate facilitates the extraction of necessary ions from the plasma. The introduction of active agents, evaporation of solid materials in the chamber, as well as the use of measuring devices that provide measurement (during coating application) of optical characteristics and coating thickness - are common modifications of this process
