Compensatory Restitution
compensatory restitution - a form of material international legal liability of the aggressor state, applied in cases where the liability of this state in the form of ordinary restitution cannot be carried out, and consisting of the obligation of this state to compensate the other state for material damage by transferring objects of the same kind as those looted and unlawfully removed from the territory of the affected state by the aggressor state, either to the affected state or by the affected state taking them into its own possession;
