Scale of measurements
Representation of a variety of manifestations of a qualitative or quantitative property on an agreed-upon ordered set of numbers or another system of logically connected signs (notations).
Notes:
1. The concept of measurement scale (shortly - scale) should not be equated with the scale (graduation device) of a measuring instrument.
2. Five types of scales are distinguished: nominal, ordinal, difference (interval), ratio, and absolute.
3. Examples of sign systems forming measurement scales include sets of evaluation scores for object properties, sets of notations (names) of an object's color, sets of names of an object's state, a collection of classification symbols or concepts, etc.
4. Difference and ratio scales are combined under the term "metric scales."
5. Measurement scales are distinguished as unidimensional and multidimensional
