Monounsaturated fatty acids

Monounsaturated fatty acids include myristoleic and palmitoleic acids (fats of fish and marine mammals), oleic acid (olive, safflower, sesame, rapeseed oils). Monounsaturated fatty acids are not only obtained from food but also synthesized in the body from saturated fatty acids and partially from carbohydrates.

The physiological requirement for monounsaturated fatty acids in adults should be 10% of the caloric content of the daily diet
