Disabled persons of the Great Patriotic War and combat actions


Persons with disabilities from the Great Patriotic War and persons with disabilities from hostilities (hereinafter also referred to as war disabled persons) include:

(as amended by Federal Law No. 153-FZ dated July 22, 2008)

1) military personnel, including those discharged to the reserve (retired), who served in the military service (including pupils of military units and ship's boys) or temporarily stationed in military units, staffs and institutions that were part of the active army, partisans, members of underground organizations operating during the period of the civil war or during the Great Patriotic War on temporarily occupied territories of the USSR, workers and employees who worked in areas of hostilities, who became disabled as a result of injury, concussion, wound or illness incurred during the period of the civil war or during the Great Patriotic War in areas of hostilities, and those who are entitled to pension benefits equivalent to military personnel of units that were part of the active army;

2) military personnel who became disabled as a result of injury, concussion, wound or illness sustained while defending the Fatherland or performing military service duties at the front or in areas of combat operations during the periods specified in this Federal law;

3) members of the rank and officer ranks of internal affairs agencies, State Fire Service, institutions and bodies of the penal enforcement system and state security bodies who became disabled as a result of injury, concussion, wound or illness sustained while performing their official duties in areas of combat operations;

4) military personnel, members of the rank and officer ranks of internal affairs organs and state security organs, soldiers and command personnel of hunter battalions, squads and units of people's defense, who became disabled as a result of injury, concussion, wound or illness sustained while performing combat tasks between June 22, 1941 and December 31, 1951, as well as during the demining of territories and objects within the territory of the USSR and territories of other states, including mine-clearing operations between June 22, 1941 and December 31, 1957 in accordance with decisions of the Council of Ministers of the USSR;

5) persons who were mobilized by Osoaviakhim organizations of the USSR and local authorities to collect ammunition and military equipment, demine territories and objects between February 1944 and December 1951 and became disabled as a result of injury, concussion or wound sustained during that period;

6) persons who served in active military units of the Armed Forces of the USSR and the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation stationed on the territories of other states, and who became disabled as a result of injury, concussion, wound, or illness incurred during hostilities conducted in these states
