Military personnel
Military personnel include:
officers, warrant officers and midshipmen, students of military educational institutions of higher education, sergeants and senior non-commissioned officers, soldiers and sailors serving in the military under contract (hereinafter - military personnel serving under contract);
paragraph has lost its force since January 1, 2010. - Federal Law No. 104-FZ dated July 6, 2006;
sergeants, senior non-commissioned officers, soldiers and sailors serving in the military by conscription, students of military educational institutions of higher education until a contract is concluded with them for service in the military (hereinafter - military personnel serving by conscription)

military personnel - citizens who have served military service as officers, warrant officers, petty officers or conscripted or contract military service as soldiers, sailors, sergeants and non-commissioned officers in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and the Collective Security Forces of the Commonwealth of Independent States, the Federal Border Service of the Russian Federation and the agencies and organizations of the Border Service of the Russian Federation, in the internal troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation and in the Railway Troops of the Russian Federation, federal government communications and information agencies, civil defense forces, federal security agencies and border troops, federal agencies for state protection, foreign intelligence agencies of the Russian Federation, other military formations of the Russian Federation established in accordance with the legislation of the Russian Federation, personnel of the ranks of soldiers and officers who have served in the internal affairs agencies of the Russian Federation, the State Fire Service, prosecutors' officials, employees of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, employees of the customs authorities of the Russian Federation, employees of the tax police, drug and psychotropic substances control agencies, employees of institutions and bodies of the criminal executive system;

6. Citizens (foreign citizens) serving military service are military personnel and have a status established by the legislation of the Russian Federation.
Military personnel include:
officers, warrant officers and midshipmen, students of military educational institutions of higher education, sergeants and senior non-commissioned officers, soldiers and sailors serving military service under contract (hereinafter - military personnel serving military service under contract);
officers called up for military service in accordance with the President of the Russian Federation's decree;
sergeants and senior non-commissioned officers, soldiers and sailors serving military service by conscription, students of military educational institutions of higher education until a contract is concluded with them (hereinafter - military personnel serving military service by conscription)
