Military Column


"military column" - a group consisting of 3 to 20 mechanical transport vehicles and (or) units of self-propelled special equipment of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, other military forces, military formations and bodies in which military service is provided by federal law, as well as internal affairs bodies of the Russian Federation;

12. Column - formation in which soldiers are positioned back-to-back, and units (vehicles) follow one after another at distances established by the Regulations or the commander.

Columns may be single-file, double, triple, quadruple, and more.

Columns are used for assembling units and military formations into deployed or marching formation
