Unauthorized waste disposal sites
Unsanctioned waste disposal sites - areas not designated for waste placement. Waste disposal is prohibited on territories adjacent to urban and rural settlements, in forest-park, resort, health and recreation zones, along animal migration routes, near spawning grounds, and in other places where a danger may be created for the environment, natural ecological systems, and human health (for example, on reservoir banks and in flood-prone areas, on territories of sanitary protection of drinking water sources); it is also prohibited to discharge production and consumption waste, including radioactive waste, into surface and groundwater bodies, onto catchment areas, into subsoil, and onto soil. In addition, the burial of waste within the boundaries of populated areas, water protection zones, and catchment areas of underground water bodies used for drinking and household water supply is prohibited.
