Contract for the Handling of Cargo in a Maritime Port


2. Under the cargo handling contract, one party (the maritime terminal operator) is obliged to perform cargo handling for remuneration and carry out other services and works specified in the cargo handling contract, while the other party (the customer) is obliged to ensure timely presentation of the cargo for its handling in the appropriate volume and (or) timely receipt of the cargo and its removal. Under the cargo handling contract, the customer may be the shipper (sender), consignee (recipient), carrier, freight forwarder, or any other physical or legal entity.
