Crime against humanity


For the purposes of this Statute, "crime against humanity" means any of the following acts when committed as part of a widespread or systematic attack directed against any civilian population, and if such attack is carried out with knowledge:

a) murder;

b) extermination;

c) enslavement;

d) deportation or other forcible transfer of populations;

e) imprisonment or other severe deprivation of physical liberty contrary to the fundamental rules of international law;

f) torture;

g) rape, sexual slavery, enforced prostitution, forced pregnancy, forced sterilization or any other form of sexual violence of comparable gravity;

h) persecution of any identifiable group or community on political, racial, national, ethnic, cultural, religious, gender-related grounds as defined in paragraph 3, or any other motives which are universally recognized as unacceptable under international law, in connection with any acts referred to in this paragraph, or any crimes falling within the jurisdiction of the Court;

i) enforced disappearance of persons;

j) crime of apartheid;

k) other inhumane acts of a similar character involving the intentional infliction of severe suffering or serious bodily injury or serious damage to mental or physical health
