5.2. Common forms (moderate severity):
- pharyngeal diphtheria - moderate intoxication, swallowing pain does not interfere with eating, plaques spread to the palatine arches, lower parts of the soft palate, lateral and posterior walls of the pharynx, moderate regional lymphadenitis, no toxic edema of the mucous membranes of the pharynx and subcutaneous tissue of the neck;
- nasal diphtheria - spread of plaques to the paranasal sinuses;
- ocular diphtheria (rare localization) - keratoconjunctivitis;
- genital diphtheria (rare localization) - plaques beyond the vulva and glans penis
