Black Powder (Rifle)
Black powder is a carefully mixed composition of potassium nitrate or sodium nitrate, sulfur and charcoal.
This powder, whose color varies from black to brown, is slightly hygroscopic and is used as gunpowder for sporting shotguns and as an explosive substance. In the first case it appears in the form of round or calibrated grains; in the second case the grains may be of various sizes or ground (explosive powders for use in mining).
