Costs of Innovations
Innovation costs - actual expenses expressed in monetary terms, associated with the implementation of various types of innovative activities carried out on an organizational scale.
Costs of technological innovations include general (current and capital) expenditures related to the development and implementation of technologically new or significantly improved goods, works, services or methods of their production (delivery), as well as technologically new or significantly improved production methods, whether carried out by the organization's own resources or costs associated with paying for work and services provided by external organizations.
Costs of marketing innovations are generally related to the development and implementation of four main types of marketing: changes in product design and packaging, use of new sales and presentation methods for products, introduction and promotion of products (services) to markets, and formation of new pricing strategies.
Costs of marketing innovations include activities related to the development and implementation of new marketing methods previously not used by the organization. These costs also include expenses for acquiring new technologies, machines, equipment and other fixed assets, as well as training and preparation of personnel related to marketing innovations.
Costs of organizational innovations are generally associated with the development and introduction of new business methods, workplace organization, and external relations management.
Costs of organizational innovations include activities related to the development and planning of new organizational methods, as well as their implementation. These costs also include expenses for acquiring new technologies, machines, equipment and other fixed assets, as well as training and preparation of personnel related to organizational innovations. Costs associated with new or significantly improved products or processes, as well as research and development costs, are not included in this category.
